About Cliff Ball

Cliff Ball Cliff has lived his entire life in a part of the country that is known affectionately as the home of the Frozen Tundra. Life here is not always easy but it has a way of making you strong. He could have easily become as cold and as hard as the winters but a heart filled with love provides warmth from a fire that never dies.

Early on he found his own way to turn lifes lemons into a drink for his soul. He discovered a true sense of freedom by sharing what was in his heart through his art. He lives on that blurred edge where the past, present and future mix and sometimes collide.

He believes in God, country, himself and in love. His work can neither be defined simply, nor can it be confined to one genre or style. He has written for friends and relatives, the holidays, funerals, fun and always for pleasure. He hopes that something he has created will touch your heart as only he can.

With a pen in my hand I can overcome any obstacle, right any wrong, climb any height, cross any distance, reach any depth, be who I was meant to be and find beauty smiling back at me. My art is forgiving, it doesn't judge, it has an open mind as it does not care where I have been but only where we are going together.

My creations on the surface are but letters forming words on the backdrop of a picture, but with my imagination and inspiration I have brought them together to form a part of me. I will capture a picture only to have it almost pull the words out of me as I give my art life.

Which is more important, the picture or the words? Neither for both are good to themselves but together they complement and complete each other. It is impossible to tell which is the coffee and which is the cream; one persons cake is another persons frosting.

Writing is but ink on a page as painting is oil on a canvas; they are nothing until you give them life by taking them into your heart and making them yours. The pictures that I capture and then use show the footprints in the sand and my words tell of the waves washing them away. My art is no less a sculpture as I have chiseled away all but what remains just as I have painted with words no less than a brush.

My art is the bridge between where I was, where I am and reaching out to you. It is a voice in a language that I otherwise would not speak. I pour my very heart and soul into this extension of my thoughts, dreams and prayers. I am not visible in my art but my heart beats within each one.

I will create as long as I can draw a breath, hold a clear thought, am able to dream and can grip a pen.

Have pen will travel.
